Ethan
Allan and the
Green Mountain
Boys. 1780 to 1783 Vermont was actually declared a British
province of Canada. This was organized by Ethan Allan whose Green
Mountain Boys fought against New York State which was trying to annex
Vermont into New York. Eventually
differences were worked out and Vermont became the 14th state in1791.
